Plot: Dr. Ryan Stone (Sandra Bullock), a brilliant medical engineer on her first Shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (George Clooney) in command of his last flight before retiring. But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The Shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone-tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness of space. The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth and any chance for rescue. As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left. But the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expance of spaceā€¦

Soooooo good! I usually hate 3d movies, but this was totally worth it and I forgot I was wearing the stupid glasses 5 minutes in. Mo is right, the cinematography is breathtaking. Sandra Bullock was amazing and George Clooney was perfect and funny. Totally tense and freaking out the whole time, which actually flew by.

Maybe I watched a different movie....I thought this movie was predictable at best. Cinematography, great. Story/plot, not so much.

Unbelievable cinematography, I don't know how they did it. It was unbelievably real to see the fire floating or blood drops floating through space.I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. Bullock did an amazing job and Clooney though he was only in the movie for a few minutes was charming and funny.

I agree this movie was amazing. When I saw it in the movie theater and it got silent in the movie you could hear a pin drop in the theatre

Neat movie. I cried at one point of the movie. Won't specify what scene even though I don't think it really "spoils" the plot. But for whatever reason, George Clooney annoyed me like his character was supposed to annoy Sandra Bullock, I'm assuming. It reminded me of how annoying Jack was in Titanic when he kept telling Rose what to do. "Rose, grab that ax, Rose..." lol Aaron loved it. He thought the casting and acting was realistic for an astronaut. I wonder how they filmed all those scenes....

I enjoyed this film, too. Makes me think twice about going to space and how scary it is to just float out to space never hearing another person's voice as you drift into "sleep". I guess that is a nice peaceful way to go. Then of course my engineering husband said there is no way she could get so close to the Chinese space station.
